The Question:

I am now in week 11 of the Power and Strength Workout. I have definitely put on some weight(5 pounds), apparently most of it in my upper body-my shirts do not fit. I plan to switch to the Get Lean program for the next 12 weeks.
Will I lose or move the weight around? My objective is to get stronger but not get particulary larger.

Thanks again for the program-I feel great and definitely have gained quite a bit in upper body strength. When I started at Select Fitness about 18 months ago I could press, maybe, 135 to 140. During week 12 I will be pressing 210. Never thought I would see 200.

The Answer:

Doing the Get Lean program would be great. The shear number of repetitions and overall work will create a great caloric burning affect that when combined with a quality diet should help you to lose more bodyfat. You may lose a little strength but you should not lose any muscle. The reason you may lose some strength is really because of a neuromuscular phenomenon. The nervous system will adapt itself to handling heavier poundage. The Get Lean programs are not overly heavy so you may lose some of this strength, but, they will still give you an awesome workout and your muscles will be conditioned in a new and fun way!
