The Question:

Dan, I just started on your Strength and Power Express Program (it was an enjoyable work out). Query: I increased some of the weights during the workout, when I input that information do I adjust it on the day I increased (i.e, work out no. 1 squat) or do I adjust it on the next scheduled day's workout for that exercise (i.e. workout no.4 squat).

The Answer:

Glad to hear you like the program. When adjusting your workout go back to the exercise on the workout day that needs to be changed. Just change it to reflect what you actually did! Or, if you did the exact workout that was prescribed and did not change anything during the workout then you should make a note as to whether or not you felt the workout was too easy, or too hard. For example, if you could not perform all of the sets and reps at the prescribed weight for a particular exercise, then the weights are too hard for that exercise. You should decrease the weight for this exercise. On the other hand if you could easily complete all the sets and reps with the prescribed weights for a particular exercise you should increase the weight for this exercise.

Now, here's the kicker. On workout weeks #5 and #10, everything should be very easy! I will remind you at the top of these particular workout pages to not increase the weights during this week because it is a very easy or "downloaded" week.
